Harmonic mixing with the Camelot wheel, explained simply

Updated October 17, 2026

In shortTwo tracks mix well when their Camelot codes are the same, next to each other on the wheel (8A to 7A or 9A), or the same number with the other letter (8A to 8B). In Discover, the "compatible keys" filter finds those tracks for you.

The three rules

  • Same code (8A to 8A): the smoothest transition.
  • ±1 on the wheel (8A to 7A or 9A): shifts the energy without clashing.
  • Same number, other letter (8A to 8B): moves from minor to major, brighter.

With DJWavPool

  • Each track shows its Camelot key, and it is written to the file tags.
  • In Discover, pick a key and tick "compatible keys" to see everything that mixes with it.
