Import a playlist into Rekordbox, Serato, Traktor and VirtualDJ
Updated October 17, 2026
In shortUnzip the pack into a folder that will not move, then import the M3U8 file: Rekordbox and Traktor have an "Import playlist" command, VirtualDJ opens the M3U8 directly, and in Serato you just drag the folder onto the crates panel.
Before importing
- Unzip the pack into your music folder, not Downloads.
- Do not rename or move the files after importing, or the software will lose them.
- The M3U8 holds the track list and order, using relative paths.
Software by software
- Rekordbox: File > Import > Import Playlist, then pick the M3U8.
- Traktor: right-click Playlists > Import Playlist.
- VirtualDJ: drag the M3U8 into the browser; Serato DJ: drag the folder onto the crates panel.
After importing
- Analyse the tracks for beat grids and waveforms.
- Then export to your USB stick from Rekordbox for CDJs.
- The BPM, key and DJ name tags written by DJWavPool show up straight away.
